The book presents a multifaceted selection of seaside themes through the individual perspective of selected photographers and artists. The wide range of photographic material is further enhanced by the classical appeal of black & white photographs from the Benaki Museum archive, along with the work of contemporary photographers. Except for showcasing the unique artistic value of each photograph, the book aims at drawing subtle, and possibly hidden, connections between the various images. Through the analogies drawn and the impressions created, the reader is encouraged to examine closely the selected imagery and appreciate the very essence of the magnificent Greek seascape in all its glory.
